Every year, in the second week of August, after up to 39 years after the inauguration of the festival takes place fusillo Felittese, a gastronomic event unique and special in the Cilento. The event takes place Aug. 14 to 24 and is organized by the Pro Loco of Felitto, led by Angelo Vilardi.

The event has become a tradition over the years and it is without doubt an opportunity to discover the “Unique Taste of tradition Cilento.

There are lots of tourists from all over Italy come to Felitto to savor “The fusillo Felittese” cooked with ingredients of our land and served in an earthenware pan with a ragout of mutton and accompanied by local red wine.

In addition, for both lunch and dinner, you can taste other local specialties such as veal stew and mutton, trout, grilled meat and cialieddo felittese.

During the evening there will be in the town center theater performances, exhibitions of crafts and local products, cultural events and painting and music concerts.

Also a great way to learn about this tiny hamlet cilentano only 1,300 inhabitants in the province of Salerno in Campania.

Felitto is located inland central Cilento, along the valley of the river Calore and still retains many watchtowers and walls, typical year 1000.

The towns closest to the street level are Castel San Lorenzo and Laurino, both about 11 km. The town is divided by Magliano Vetere through a long and rugged mountainous coastline whose major hill is represented by Monte Chianiello (1,314 m asl), while from Bellosguardo Ripiti by the banks of the creek, a tributary of Fasanella. In addition to Chianello, half the territory of Magliano, other mountains in the municipal area are the Ceglie (602 m asl) and the Cerzito (480 m asl).

 Felitto is famous for fusillo (U ‘fusillu), a type of pasta made ​​by hand, rolling the  spaghetti to a wire and then had them dry. The festival of fusillo was born in  1976, is of great economic importance and also to the common cultural, not    surprisingly is one of the most successful summer events of the National Park of  Cilento.
